Who are we?

The Aryu App was created by the team behind Indies Greens, a multi-faceted, family-owned business in Antigua and Barbuda. Indies Greens, established in 2010, started out simply as a tilapia and aquaponic farm but has since grown and evolved into a highly-diversified business centered around nature and technology, with offerings including:

• Aquaponic Farming
• Consultation
• Coral Conservation
• Distrubution and Logistics
• Education and Training
• Event Hosting
• Pet Shop
• Tours

Indies Greens is a constantly growing business with consistently growing management difficulties.

Growing Pains

As the business grew, the family couldn't keep pace with it as their limited resources were stretched past the limit.

• Deadlines weren't met
• Bills went unpaid
• Sales were missed
• Theft was untraceable
• Profitability was unknown

As more problems emerged various software applications were used to help address these issues, but these tools only complicated the management process. They were often:

• Too Expensive
• Too Complex
• Not designed for the Caribbean

With the second-generation of the family entering the business, the inefficient and over-complicated management system restricted their involvement, further straining the business.

A New Age

The Covid-19 pandemic introduced additional pressures as it reshaped the business landscapse overnight. Struggling to adapt, Indies Greens decided to look internally for a spark of innovation to propel them forward. From this emerged the first version of their self-developed business management app in 2023 which allowed for the effective management of:

• Multiple lines of business
• Business and personal finances
• Paperless record-keeping
• Incorporating younger generations

These features made an immediate impact, streamling management and eliminating hours of administrative labour each week. They also allowed the second-generation of the family to take over the management of the business, seamlessly transistioning to a new generation of management.

Aryu Begins

Having found success using their app, the management of Indies Greens realized that other small businesses owners face the same issues they once did, sparking another evolution. More features were added to transform the app into a complete suite of business management tools with an emphasis on:

• Simplicity
• Flexiblity
• Efficiency

They aimed to release the app publicly, specifically targeted at helping small businesses across the region. This gave birth to the Aryu App: the app designed for the people, 'for Aryu'.
